RWE npower is a leading integrated UK energy company and is part of the RWE Group, one of Europe’s leading electricity and gas companies. We serve around 6.8 million customer accounts and produce around 8% of the electricity used in Great Britain.

We supply electricity and gas to residential and business customers and we operate and manage a flexible portfolio of coal, oil and gas-fired power stations with the capacity to generate around 10,000 MW. We also manage a portfolio of cogeneration plants.

In the UK, RWE is also at the forefront of producing energy through renewable sources. RWE Innogy, part of RWE Innogy, leads the UK wind power market and are also leaders in hydroelectric generation.

RWE is one of Europe's five leading electricity and gas companies, active in the generation, trading, transmission and supply of electricity and gas. More than 70,000 employees supply over 16 million customers with electricity and around 8 million customers in gas. In the 2009 financial year RWE recorded about €48 billion in revenue.

• Our new gas-fired power stations at Staythorpe and Pembroke will help us to reach our target of reducing the amount of carbon emitted per unit of electricity generated by 33% compared to 2000 levels.

• Horizon Nuclear Power, our joint venture with E.ON UK, aims to develop and construct around 6GW of new nuclear power station capacity in the UK by 2025.

• We are investing £200 million in improvements to our front-line customer service.

• Since it was established in 2000, the npower Health Through Warmth Scheme has accessed £45million to help improve the levels of warmth, comfort and quality of life for people whose health is made worse by cold, damp living conditions.

• We are proud to be one of the first companies to be awarded the prestigious CommunityMark by Business in the Community (BiTC) in recognition of our long-term commitment to the community.

• In 2009 we contributed £7.2 million to the community through charitable donations, community investment and commercial activities.
