Torquay United boss Paul Buckle wins August npower League 2 Manager of the Month award.

Torquay United boss Paul Buckle was today celebrating after winning the first npower League 2 Manager of the Month award.

The Gulls have enjoyed a fine start to the season and were the form side of the entire npower Football League in August.

Alan Curbishley, Chairman of the npower Manager of the Month awards panel commented: ‘”Paul Buckle’s side have been outstanding in all departments  and deserve special praise for being the only side in the entire npower Football League to maintain a 100% record throughout August with four consecutive wins.”

Upon picking up the award a delighted Buckle remarked: “This award is testament to all the hard work put in by the players, back room staff and everyone connected with the Club. It is lovely to be rewarded in this way and I am extremely proud to pick up the npower League 2 Manager of the Month trophy.”

Buckle held off competition from Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner, Rotherham United boss Ronnie Moore and Chesterfield’s John Sheridan.

The Torquay United boss was presented with the new npower Football League 2 trophy at the Club’s Seale Hayne training base by Club Chairman Simon Baker and six-time World Snooker Champion Ray Reardon, a long time resident of the Torbay area.
