The 2010 npower Village Cup Final will be contested at Lord’s on Sunday 12th September between Sessay, from North Yorkshire, and Shipton-under-Wychwood, from Oxfordshire.
Shipton will return to Lord’s having won the cup on 2 previous occasions and for Sessay it will be only their second appearance in the final having lost previously in 1976. England Cricket legends, Phil Defreitas and Dean Headley will be present on the day to help coach both sides and enjoy the day with the travelling fans.
The ground opens at 10am and tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (under-16s or over-65s). It is always a thrilling, passionate match as two village teams go head-to-head at the home of cricket.
Sue Heritage, Sponsorship PR Manager for npower said, “It’s fantastic that traditional village cricket is still celebrated in this country. The competition is about local cricketers playing for their local village and I wish both teams the best of luck for Sunday’s Final.”

Notes to Editors:
In 2009, npower announced a two-year extension to their title sponsorship of domestic Test match cricket. Next year’s npower Test Series will see England play a three match Series against Sri Lanka before taking on India over 4 matches.
The npower cricket programme also includes the successful grassroots initiative, npower Urban Cricket, which runs in partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
