npower continues to waive daily standing charges for flood victims

19th June 2019 – With widespread rain forecasted in parts of Britain over the coming days, and many areas already affected by flood water, npower will continue to waive daily standing charges on gas and electricity for any of its domestic customers impacted by the recent floods.

We are reminding all npower customers, who have lost their supplies as a direct result of the floods, to contact us as soon as they have been reconnected, so we can credit their account accordingly.

Simon Stacey, npower’s Managing Director for Home and Business, said: “We recognise that our customers need help through these unprecedented times. During the 2015 floods, we made it our policy and set a commitment to our customers to waive these charges as it’s simply not fair to levy a standing charge when people have widespread standing water. Keeping safe is vital where water and electricity and gas are concerned and I would also urge that customers ask a qualified technician to check their home before any power and or gas is used”.

The number to call for customers who have lost their gas and electricity supply due to the recent flooding is 0800 073 3000.
